MaaS for Sustainable Cities
The goal is to take advantage of the opportunities linked to the vision of combined mobility, or Mobility as a Service (MaaS). The project runs activities to ensure that the benefits of MaaS can be realized. An important part of the work is to facilitate the exchange of experiences and knowledge in the field.
What is public transport today and tomorrow? Within the framework of the collaboration between Drive Sweden and K2, the national knowledge center for public transport, we drive development around and the conversation about the collective mobility of the future. What is required to redefine public transport and to take advantage of the potential of new types of mobility services?
The aim is to contribute to the development of sustainable combined mobility services in Sweden. These services should contribute to the transformation from private car ownership to more sustainable mobility solutions. The goal is to drive the development within combined mobility forward and this mainly takes place through the following three goal areas: a) Spread knowledge, contribute to the exchange of experience and raise examples from the outside world b) Identify and systematically deal with challenges and blockages in today's system c) Stimulate the emergence of new services , collaborations and service packages
Planned structure and implementation
The assignment is carried out as an extension of the coordination that is already carried out within the strategic innovation program Drive Sweden. The assignment is carried out by VTI/K2 but with Drive Sweden as coordinating party. A central input to priorities will partly be results from previous and ongoing projects funded in the MaaS area as well as related initiatives such as Climate-Smart Mobility 2030 (the collaboration between Drive Sweden and Viable Cities).
