About us
Drive Sweden is a national initiative for more sustainable transportation systems. The program brings together over 200 stakeholders from the business, academia, and the public sector. By financing innovations, Drive Sweden contributes to making new solutions in shared, connected and automated mobility not only technically, commercially, and legally feasible but also creates benefits for society, individuals, and businesses. The program has been in operation since 2015 and is financed by Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency, and Formas. Partners confirm that the broad collaboration in project and program activities leads to a broadened perspective, rapid knowledge development, and more market-adapted solutions.
The program
Drive Sweden is one of Sweden's 17 Strategic Innovation Programs, with funding from Vinnova, The Swedish Energy Agency and Formas. The actor-driven Innovation Programs work together in areas that are strategically important for Sweden and shall contribute to creating sustainable solutions to global societal challenges and increased international competitiveness. The Swedish government invests a total of eight billion SEK for the programs that can receive funding for up to twelve years, with business and other actors mirroring this investment.
