VIDEO: Insights from the introduction of third-party public transport ticketing


How did it go when the Traffic Administration in Stockholm (SL) and Västtrafik opened up their systems to allow other actors to sell their public transport tickets digitally? In this webinar, project partners' discussed and gave their views on challenges, success factors and lessons learned from the implementation process.

In 2022, Expedition Mondial carried out a project with the aim of mapping success factors and challenges to enable the introduction of digital management of public transport tickets. The mapping was done through in-depth interviews with SL, Västtrafik and actors who sell tickets. The analyzed results was presented at Drive Sweden's Lunch & Learn.

After the presentation, Peter Rosenberg, business developer, Västtrafik, Håkan Karlsson, project manager, Stockholms Trafikförvaltning and Audun M. Solheim, strategy and development manager at Kolumbus discussed which development is needed to increase the pace to enable third-party sales. The discussion was moderated by Jens Tångefjord, business developer at Swedish Public Transport.
