ProMo - Proof of Concept for MaaS in Science Village

Despite the fact that shared mobility is considered a promising part of a sustainable transport system and that several pilots have been carried out, there are still knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.

The purpose of the ProMo project is to address key factors and create a Proof of Concept for shared mobility. The project is based on a larger urban development project - Science Village at Brunnshög in Lund, where 15,000 workplaces are being built for research and business. The timing is just right when Science Village now intends to lay the foundations for a cost-effective, user-friendly and sustainable mobility service.

Through the project, conditions are created that can permeate the planning and construction process and then be rolled out into operation when Science Village takes shape. Unlike previous MaaS project, service design methods will be used to gain an understanding of user needs. In the next step, the focus is on collaboration between the actors to jointly design a long-term business model.

With this as a starting point, a digital demo service is developed that is tested and verified with potential users. Behind the proposal are MaaS provider EC2B, publicly owned Science Village, real estate operators Wihlborgs and Vectura and car sharing provider MABI. Lund University, Lund municipality and Skånetrafiken also participate in a reference group.

Together, the parties form a strong consortium that represents important parts of the value chain. Through a Proof of Concept for shared mobility, the parties see great potential in being able to contribute to sustainable and efficient transport in Brunnshög, but also in other urban development projects around Sweden and for the MaaS area as a whole.
