Commuting - behavioral change with digital support

The project aims to promote mobility services adapted for commuting between the city center and the countryside. Some may be digital carpooling services, another work commuting as a coordination function.

Purpose and goal

The project aims to promote mobility services adapted for commuting between the city center and the countryside. The goal is to reduce the need for car traffic by a fifth by the year 2030 through more efficient work commuting at the respective employers/companies.

Expected results and effects

Borlänge municipality, together with established organizations in the region, will test a new way of carpooling service where the project will lead to more efficient transportation/connections between sparsely populated areas and the city center which will lead to reduced emissions, changed behavior patterns and promote a more sustainable climate-neutral society.

Planned approach and implementation

Identify and analyze behavioral patterns for changing travel habits Develop strategy for more efficient commuting choices Test and pilot a model for a new digital shared mobility service using behavioral patterns as a starting point
