Causal Analysis of the delayed Roll-out of Fully Autonomous Vehicles

A key factor in the development and introduction of shared mobility services based on self-driving vehicles is the lack of vehicles specifically developed for autonomous driving level 4 (without safety driver) and for shared mobility. Many players have shown off nice concept cars and several players have described their plans, but many players have also been forced to shut down or postpone their ambitions. It is felt by many that it is always two years away from launch.

Projektfoto- Causal Analysis of the delayed Roll-out of Fully Autonomous Vehicles

Project scope

With the background and experience from developing services and vehicles we want to investigate and describe the technical challenges of developing and producing customized autonomous and shared vehicles. We also want to analyse the market and identify which financing difficulties that need to be solved in order to transform the vision of a sustainable and equal mobility system into reality.

It is also the project's goal to to provide various actors within the mobility ecosystem, such as private companies, authorities and research institutes, with conditions for more effective measures and cooperation. The purpose is to help new actors and existing ones to apply their specific part or technology.

Expected result

The project will be led and implemented by Felix Andlauer and Adam Laurell who will consult/involve experts both nationally and internationally in their respective areas of expertise. The project will result in a detailed report which will provide an overview of the market for Lv4 autonomous vehicles and mobility services, describe technical and commercial challenges and make suggestions on how development could be stimulated.
