AD Aware Traffic Control
The project handles a digitized traffic control for connected and autonomous vehicles with traffic control based on different information flows. Within the project, interface will also be proposed and implementation of information flow module for implementation in cloud-based environment, where information from a number of different public and / or private sources can be collected and consolidated.
Functionality for dynamic regulation using decision support models of individual self-driving vehicles is developed with the interface for authority to shut down roads, provide dynamic guidance and management of emergency situations. The function module should be possible for further development of upcoming additional functions that could be dynamic traffic lights, advanced weather information or coordination with emergency vehicles.
The basic functionality should be possible to demonstrate in early 2017, but will not be fully developed in a sharp environment. Other deliveries are a report with opportunities and challenges for traffic control of self-driving vehicles, as well as proposals for roles and responsibility models, including functionality and interface for government-based traffic control.
The concept has a clear national and international reach and will therefore in the long run be useful for pilots in all parts of the country, as well as pilots internationally for autonomous vehicles. The project is based on already made investments within the framework of ongoing projects and programs, such as Drivesweden och Drive Me.
