Electric self-driving vehicles in the future decarbonised transport system (Eldsjäl 2)

The project, Eldsjäl II, was carried out between February and June 2022. The project intended, through dialogue between project partners and other stakeholders, to identify which issues are most interesting and relevant to study further regarding self-driving shared vehicles and how.

Eldsjäl II (2022)

The project, Eldsjäl II, was carried out between February and June 2022. The project intended, through dialogue between project partners and other stakeholders, to identify which issues are most interesting and relevant to study further regarding self-driving shared vehicles and how. This has been done through an internal project workshop as well as several working meetings, an environmental analysis of both research and industrial projects and a round table discussion with external stakeholders. Based on these discussions, proposals and recommendations for continued work have been formulated.

Results

Three steps are recommended for further work regarding the analysis of self-driving shared vehicles: 1. A mapping of the potential for shared self-driving vehicles, both geographically in the city and based on different types of users. 2. An analysis of which control mechanisms will be relevant to use when shared self-driving vehicles are introduced in order for them to contribute to the city's sustainability goals. 3. Based on the mapping and analysis of control mechanisms above, various realistic scenarios can be defined that seem interesting to test, which can then be analyzed, for example, with the help of simulation
