Open call 2023 - Safe and sustainable use of small vehicles using digital technology
The call "Safe and sustainable use of small vehicles using digital technology" closed May 3. Seven projects were granted financial support and the work is up and running. Below is a list of the projects and via the links you can read about each project.
Safe and sustainable use of small vehicles using digital technology
Smaller vehicles have the potential to reduce congestion in the transport system and new types are constantly reaching the market. By small vehicles we mean smaller road vehicles that may only be driven at low speeds.
Purpose of the announcement
This call finances projects leading to a safer and increased use of small vehicles driven at low speeds with the help of digitalisation. Small vehicles includes for example, electric scooters, various types of cargo bikes, bicycles, electric mopeds, smaller electric four-wheeled vehicles, electric skateboards and delivery robots. The common focus for the projects is that they investigate how digital technology can be used to achieve a smarter, safer and more sustainable use of small vehicles.
The following projects have been granted funding.
- MicroVision - Development, Testing, and Demonstration of a Real-Time Support System for Electric Vehicle Riders
Coordinator: Autoliv Development AB
- Modular and scalable mobility hub with charging for shared micromobility
Coordinator: Standab AB - Waste Management by Robots
Coordinator: The City of Helsingborg - Digital solutions for sustainable planning and management of shared micromobility using Big Data
coordinator: Chalmers University of Technology - Road Traffic Safety for Electric Microvehicles (VIASAFETY)
Coordinator: Chalmers Tekniska Högskola AB - MIDIS - databehov och informationsdelning för mikromobilitet
Coordinator: RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB - RISE AB - Digitala System - CycleSense - Harnessing Data for Efficient and Sustainable Last-Mile Deliveries

During the preparatory work, our network was invited to provide input to the design of the call, see results and presentations from that meeting here (in Swedish). We also arranged three information meetings about the open call. Reach out to us if you want to take part of those presentations.
