Silicon Valley aims for future mobility

Wednesday, May 29, 2019

Silicon Valley in California is the place where many of the transport services of the future are born. Areas such as electrification, new types of shared transport services, data sharing and new payment solutions are being launched at a furious pace by both startups and tech giants in Silicon Valley.

In order to stimulate an increased exchange between these actors and the Nordic countries, the Nordic innovation authorities are now investing in the area of Future Mobility. This is done within the framework of Nordic Innovation House, together with Drive Sweden.

Elias Arnestrand, who was previously responsible for Traffic Lab at Samtrafiken, will drive the work in Silicon Valley with a focus on business intelligence and to stimulate cooperation between regions.

- Silicon Valley not only represents a place, but the attitude that everything is possible. This, in combination with cutting-edge expertise and a lot of capital, means that Swedish actors who want to be involved in shaping the transport system of the future should engage in the innovation work that is going on here, says Elias Arnestrand.
