New United Nations Resolution on Automated Road Vehicles
In mid-September, representatives from the Ministry of Enterprise and the Swedish Transport Agency took part in meetings with the UN Road Safety Working Group. Among other things, a resolution on the introduction of high or fully automated vehicles in road traffic was finalized and adopted.
Sweden is the world leader in road safety solutions and is at the forefront when it comes to connected and automated vehicles. Connected, collaborative and automated vehicles and systems have the potential to radically change our transport system, our innovation development and our labor market. In the long term, technology can also provide new opportunities for mobility and transport in sparsely populated areas, as well as for people who have limited opportunities for their own transport today.
