Drive Sweden will participate in a roundtable discussion on automated driving with the Minister for Infrastructure, Andreas Carlson. Program Director Malin Andersson had the opportunity to discuss the issue with the Minister during his visit to Lindholmen Science Park, accompanied by his Nordic colleagues, last week.
Malin Andersson had a conversation with the Minister about the upcoming roundtable discussion that Drive Sweden, along with industry organisations, authorities, and research institutions, have been invited to attend.
The structure of the meeting is that the various organisations will describe the current status of the development of automated driving. They have also been asked to outline what needs to be done by society for the field to reach its full potential and contribute to a more efficient and sustainable transport system.
- We will make it clear that technological development needs to go hand in hand with regulations, policy, and behavioural changes. For instance, we need traffic rules to be codified so that they are readable by the connected vehicles of the future,” says Malin Andersson.
The Minister for Infrastructure and Housing, Andreas Carlson, visited Lindholmen on 13-14 August 2024 in connection with the Nordic Council of Ministers' meeting and an informal Nordic transport ministers' meeting held at Lindholmen Conference Centre. In conjunction with the meetings, Lindholmen Science Park organised an exhibition featuring innovative companies and current initiatives within the mobility sector.
