Drive Sweden & Future Mobility invites you to attend an overview of North American activities in robotaxis and automated trucking, presented by Richard Bishop.
Wherever wheeled vehicles are in use, there are opportunities for autonomy. Robotaxis have launched and are scaling up, while trucking is poised for imminent commercial deployment. For the diverse trucking sector, the talk will address the timing and scaling of long-haul operations, as well as provide a brief summary of autonomy for short-haul, logistics centers, and industrial operations.
The webinar will end with a discussion of several key issues to “keep an eye on and on how the developments in the United States link to activities in Sweden and the potential for new or expanded collaborations between the countries.
Our keynote speaker is Richard Bishop, Principal at Bishop Consulting. He has over 30 years of experience in the domain of connected and automated vehicles. He provides strategic consulting to automotive manufacturers, suppliers, and tech firms, as well as advising federal and state government agencies in the U.S. and abroad. He led Team Lux in the DARPA Urban Challenge and has since “surfed the wave” of AV development, collaborating with a wide array of Automated Driving System developers. In addition to regularly publishing articles on Forbes.com, Mr. Bishop provides Automated Driving Industry Trends Reports covering ADAS in passenger cars as well as fully automated robotaxis and trucks (available at www.richardbishopconsulting.com). Prior to establishing Bishop Consulting in 1997, Mr. Bishop was Program Manager for Vehicle-Highway Automation at the USDOT Federal Highway Administration.
